Lane Holloway

Lane Holloway, PhD has extensive work experience in software development and engineering roles. Currently, Lane is employed as a Principal Software Engineer at Provi since 2023. Prior to this, Lane worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from 2019 to 2021 as a Senior Software Development Engineer. In this role, Lane led various projects and collaborated with internal teams to improve efficiency and cost savings.

Before joining AWS, Lane held a position at Amazon as a Senior Software Development Engineer from 2016 to 2019. During this time, Lane led the technical direction and development of multiple projects, including Amazon Insights into Manufacturing (AIM) and AWS TimeStream. Lane also played a crucial role in integrating Amazon Fulfillment teams and driving adoption of the ISA95 standard, resulting in significant cost savings for the company.

From 2014 to 2016, Lane worked as the Principal Portfolio Architect in The Office of the CTO at Rapid7. Prior to that, Lane was a Staff Software Engineer Team Lead at HomeAway from 2013 to 2014. Lane also gained experience as a Senior Software Developer at Sotera Defense Solutions, Inc. from 2010 to 2013.

Earlier in Lane's career, they worked at IBM as a Senior Software Developer from 2006 to 2010, serving as the lead software developer from 2003 to 2006 and a software developer from 2000 to 2003. Lane's responsibilities at IBM included architecting and developing high-availability web reporting and analysis tools, as well as managing information architecture, design, and usability. Lane holds two patents related to data input in tools.

Lane's professional journey started as a Research Assistant at The University of Texas at San Antonio from 2002 to 2003. Here, Lane implemented and tested Dynamic Frequent Line Cache, developed software for FPGA-based intrusion detection, and worked on a parallel graphics cluster project.

Lane Holloway, PhD, has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, which they received in 2001. Lane then went on to pursue a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at San Antonio, which they completed in 2003. Holloway furthered their education by earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2016.
