Richard Griggs

Richard Griggs has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Richard began their career as an Anesthesiology Resident at Duke University Medical Center in 1999. Richard later served as Chief Resident in Anesthesiology from 2002 to 2003. Afterward, they joined the United States Air Force as an Anesthesiologist from 2003 to 2007. In 2007, they transitioned to Providence Anesthesiology Associates, P.A. where they worked as an Anesthesiologist and held various leadership positions, including Section Chief at NH Mint Hill Medical Center and Chief of the Clinical Practice Committee. In 2016, they joined Novant Health and served on the Anesthesia Advisory Board and as Chair of the Invasive & Procedural Services Subcommittee, Pharmacy & Therapeutics. Richard was also a member of the Medical Board Executive Committee in the Southern Piedmont Region. Since 2018, Richard has been Chief of Staff at Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center, LLC. Richard has also held the roles of Vice Chief of Staff, Chair of Surgery, and currently serves on the Medical Executive Committee.

Richard Griggs completed their education in a chronological order. Richard attended Conneaut Lake High School from 1986 to 1991. After high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Pre-Medicine and Spanish at Penn State University from 1991 to 1995. Following their undergraduate studies, they attended the University of Pittsburgh from 1995 to 1999, where they earned a Doctorate in Medicine. Lastly, they attended Duke University from 1999 to 2003, where they completed their studies in Anesthesiology. In addition to their formal education, Richard Griggs obtained the certification of "Diplomate, American Board of Anesthesiology" from The American Board of Anesthesiology.
