Maria Li has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Maria began their career in 2002 as a Library Assistant at UBC Library. In 2007, they joined Clinical Sleep Solutions Inc as a Sleep Therapist and worked there until 2020. In 2008, Maria started working at Providence Health Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Throughout their time there, they took on various roles and responsibilities, including working in Diagnostics and Acute/Critical Care, acting as a preceptor for Chinese physicians, and developing the role of the Respiratory Therapist within the COPD Outreach Team. Maria also served as the Pulmonary Diagnostics Coordinator in a leadership role. In 2021, Maria briefly worked as a Clinical Informatics Specialist at Providence Health Care before assuming their current position as the Senior Clinical Project and Change Management Lead for the New St. Paul's Hospital project.
Maria Li earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with a major in Physics and a minor in Genetics from The University of British Columbia from 2000 to 2005. Following that, they pursued a Diploma in Respiratory Care Therapy/Therapist from Thompson Rivers University, completed in 2008. Maria also became a Certified Respiratory Educator through the Canadian Network for Respiratory Care. Lastly, they obtained a Master of Public Health degree (MPH) from the University of Roehampton in 2019.
