Oron Frenkel

Clinical Lead: Intelligent Network For Point-of-care Ultrasound, CDTS Project at Providence Health Care

Oron Frenkel has a diverse work experience in healthcare, academia, and technology. In 2014, they joined Providence Health Care as part of Canada's Digital Technology Supercluster, where they led a healthcare consortium in delivering an innovative PoCUS Network across British Columbia. Oron also served as a staff physician and director of the Point-of-Care Ultrasound Program in the Emergency Department. In 2020, they became the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board at Clarius Mobile Health. Additionally, they have been an Assistant Clinical Professor at The University of British Columbia since 2014. Prior to these roles, they worked as a resident physician in emergency medicine at Alameda County Medical Center and as a Graduate Student Instructor in Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley from 2004 to 2006.

Oron Frenkel completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Systems Biology at the University of California, Berkeley from 1998 to 2003. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Philosophy/Anthropology from the same university, which they obtained from 2006 to 2009. Additionally, Oron Frenkel attended the University of California, San Francisco from 2003 to 2009, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree.
