Sharon Parkes

Sharon Parkes has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Sharon is currently the Executive Director of Operations for Seniors Care at Providence Health Care, a position they have held since July 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Director of Operations at Providence Living starting in August 2021.

Sharon also has a long history with Island Health - Vancouver Island Health Authority. Sharon held various roles within the organization, including Director of Ambulatory Care and Medicine Quality from June 2019 to August 2021, Site Director from October 2017 to June 2019, Manager of Acute Medicine from September 2016 to October 2017, Manager of General Surgery, IV Therapy, and Breast Health from February 2011 to September 2016, and Manager of Implementation and Development in Surgical Services from October 2010 to February 2011.

Prior to their time at Island Health, Sharon worked for Alberta Health Services as a Patient Care Manager from September 2008 to August 2010, and for Calgary Health Region as an Assistant Patient Care Manager from October 2006 to September 2008.

Sharon Parkes earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Nursing from Sheffield Hallam University, where they studied from 1990 to 1994. Sharon then pursued a Master of Science in Education at the University of Surrey from 2001 to 2005.
