Roel Casteels

Roel Casteels has extensive experience in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation within the province of Vlaams-Brabant. Currently serving as Bestuurssecretaris ondernemerschap at Provincie Vlaams-Brabant since February 2006, Roel Casteels focuses on establishing initiatives and providing subsidies to support entrepreneurial growth. Since January 2015, Roel Casteels has also been the Coördinator at Smart Hub Vlaams-Brabant, where the organization stimulates innovation, fosters collaboration between businesses and knowledge institutions, and attracts foreign investments across five innovative clusters: health, logistics, cleantech, food, and creativity. Prior to these roles, Roel Casteels worked as a Projectcoördinator - advisor at UNIZO from 2002 to 2006. Roel Casteels holds a Master's degree in Economics from KU Leuven (1995-2001) and an ASO diploma in Sciences-Mathematics from Sint-Pieterscollege (1989-1995).
