Xiaolan Wei

Xiaolan Wei has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various industries. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Scientific Officer at Proya Cosmetics, a role they started in 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President of R&D, Asia at Coty from 2018 to 2022.

Before joining Proya Cosmetics and Coty, Xiaolan worked at PwC and its subsidiary, Strategy&. At PwC, they held the role of Director, Consumer Markets - Innovation from 2017 to 2018, where they provided management consultancy services in the retail and consumer sector, focusing on product innovation, operational effectiveness, and post-merger integration.

Xiaolan's tenure at Strategy& as the Manager, Innovation Strategy Consulting lasted from 2014 to 2017. In this role, they specialized in helping consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies and retailers grow through new product innovation and global expansion.

Prior to their time at PwC and Strategy&, Xiaolan worked as a Management Consultant at PwC from 2012 to 2014. Xiaolan also held the position of Manager, Technology Acquisition at SC Johnson - A Family Company from 2011 to 2012.

Xiaolan's earlier professional experience includes roles at Avon Products and GE Global Research. At Avon Products, they worked as a Program Manager and Senior Chemist from 2008 to 2011. At GE Global Research, they served as a Lead Chemist from 2006 to 2008. Additionally, they worked as a Chemist at GE Advanced Materials - Silicones from 2005 to 2006.

Throughout their career, Xiaolan has demonstrated expertise in areas such as innovation strategy, product portfolio management, new product development, and operational improvement. Xiaolan'sexperience in the cosmetics and consumer goods industry, coupled with their consultancy background, make their a valuable asset in driving growth and innovation within organizations.

Xiaolan Wei's education history includes obtaining a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Strategy and Finance from NYU Stern School of Business in 2012. Prior to that, Xiaolan Wei pursued a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania from 2000 to 2005. Xiaolan Wei began their academic journey by completing a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Materials Chemistry at Peking University from 1996 to 2000.
