Chien-Yu Chen

Chien-Yu Chen has a diverse work experience spanning various research and teaching roles. From 2020 to the present, they have been working as a Research Associate at PRR. Prior to this, they held the position of Research Coordinator at the University of Washington from November 2018 to April 2020. In this role, they led community engagement focus groups, conducted qualitative analysis, and managed a team for baseline data collection and pilot intervention evaluation.

From 2013 to 2018, Chien-Yu Chen worked at The University of Arizona in two roles. As a Graduate Teaching Associate, they served as Instructor of Record for various communication courses, both online and in-person. They also contributed to research projects, including leading a content analysis project on end-of-life communication in movies and an experimental study on stereotypes and intergenerational interactions.

Additionally, they worked as a Research Team Member in public health research at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health from January to December 2015. Their responsibilities included literature review and secondary data analysis.

From 2010 to 2012, Chien-Yu Chen worked as a Research Assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University, where they conducted data analysis, literature reviews, and generated reports for various research projects. They also worked as an Intern at Chung Shan Medical University Hospital in 2006, where they analyzed electronic medical records and facilitated proper coding.

Chien-Yu Chen obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Chung Shan Medical University. After that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from California State University, Long Beach. Following their master's degree, Chien-Yu Chen attended the University of Arizona, where they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Communication, with a minor in Public Health.
