Community Engagement Specialist at PRR

Emma D'Orazio has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Emma started their career as a Community Outreach Intern at PRR in June 2019 and later became a Junior Project Coordinator in March 2020. Emma then progressed to the role of Senior Project Coordinator in June 2021 before assuming their current position as a Community Engagement Specialist in January 2022. At PRR, Emma has been responsible for developing and managing community engagement project work plans, creating engaging content for various platforms, and utilizing virtual public involvement tools for diverse audiences.

In addition to their work at PRR, Emma has also gained experience as a Volunteer at DESC (Downtown Emergency Service Center) where they conducted a program evaluation through client surveys and recommended program improvements. Emma has also worked as a Sales Employee at SOSIOS FRUIT & PRODUCE INC from September 2016 to March 2020.

Emma has a passion for education and has held positions as a Cooking Instructor at Seattle Cucina Cooking School, a Co-Manager at the Student Food Cooperative under ASUW (Associated Students of the University of Washington), and a Volunteer at Fiddleheads Forest School at the University of Washington. In these roles, they have facilitated cooking classes for middle school students, directed educational programming on food systems, and provided instructor support for an outdoor preschool.

Furthermore, Emma has worked as a Mental Health Intern at the Center For Discovery, where they facilitated group cognitive-behavioral therapy and supported clients in an inpatient treatment center. Emma also gained teaching experience as a Peer Teaching Assistant at the University of Washington, guiding lab sections for a Plant Classification and Identification Biology course.

Emma D'Orazio completed their high school education at Mt Lebanon Senior High School from 2012 to 2016, earning a High School Diploma. Emma then pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health at the University of Washington, from 2016 to 2020.
