Melanie Shark

Melanie Shark is a seasoned professional in the music industry, currently serving as Commercial Development Manager at PRS for Music. With extensive experience in various roles, Melanie has been a Freelance Music Business & Licensing Consultant since December 2021, and previously held positions such as General Manager at House of Music and Entertainment (H.O.M.E.), Director of Corporate Development at Utopia Music, and Chief Operating Officer at #iVoted Festival. Melanie has also contributed as Vice Chair of Events & Fundraising for the DC Chapter of Women in Music, and worked at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as a Paralegal, where responsibilities included managing performance rights reporting and overseeing foreign artist visas. Earlier experience includes a Senior International Strategy Analyst role at SoundExchange and a Research Assistant position at Northeastern University. Melanie holds a Master’s Degree in Music Industry Leadership and a Bachelor's Degree in the same field from Northeastern University, along with an IB Diploma from the International School of Geneva.
