Marilyn Fancher has extensive work experience in the field of communications and creative advertising. Marilyn began their career as an Assistant Account Executive at McCann Erickson in 1986. Marilyn then served as the Chairman of ASUW Elections Administration at the University of Washington, where they successfully administered student elections and increased voter turnout by 21%.

In 1989, Marilyn worked as the Director of Broadcast Services during the George H.W. Bush Administration, where they managed television, video, and radio production studios and provided strategic communications counsel for the RNC, The White House, and the Bush Administration.

Marilyn founded their own company, Marilyn Fancher Creative, LLC, in 1993 and served as the President until 1994. Marilyn then joined APCO Worldwide, a strategic communications and public affairs firm, where they held various roles, including Vice President and Creative Director, Senior Vice President and Executive Creative Director, and Chief Creative Officer. Marilyn played a key role in building a global creative and digital practice, generating $13M in annual revenue, and managing a team of 52 practitioners across ten international markets. Marilyn worked at APCO Worldwide from 1995 to 2016.

In 2015, they also served as a Juror for the annual PRWeek/Campaign Magazine global Brand Film Festival, which recognizes creative and effective brand film and video content.

Since 2017, Marilyn has been working at Reservoir Communications Group as the Executive Vice President and Director of Digital & Creative. In this role, they provide senior advisory to healthcare clients and is engaged in various aspects of communications platform development, brand positioning, content creation, website and social channel development, video production, media campaigns, and research and analytics.

Marilyn Fancher has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oregon. Their majors were Political Science and Journalism, and they also completed a minor in English.
