Rob Johnston

Rob Johnston is an accomplished academic and practitioner with extensive experience in national security, data science, and social science. Currently serving as a Lecturer at The Johns Hopkins University and as a Strategic Advisor at Pryon, Rob also holds positions as a Distinguished Visiting Scholar and Research Scholar at North Carolina State University. As Chief Scientist at Johnston Analytics, Rob leads initiatives that leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence to solve significant social science challenges. Previous roles include various leadership positions at the Central Intelligence Agency and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, focusing on research, organizational development, and process improvement. Rob's educational background includes a Doctorate in Applied Ethnography from the University of Houston and a Master’s in Adult Education and Leadership from Drake University.
