Kerry Wei is a Principal at Prysm Capital where she provides growth capital to disruptive management teams across the technology, consumer, and healthcare markets. Investing across stages, Kerry is passionate about partnering with innovative teams and being a trusted thought partner to help them achieve their vision and potential.
Prior to Prysm, Kerry spent five years at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) where she was a Project Leader primarily focused on Private Equity and Technology practice areas, advising funds and management teams. While at BCG, Kerry led teams and executed due diligences in industries such as enterprise software, consumer technology, and services. She also partnered with management teams to transform their businesses, especially regarding go-to-market strategy, pricing, corporate development, and many other initiatives. Kerry started as an Associate in the San Francisco office, but also spent a year in the Melbourne office advising APAC clients.
Kerry earned a Bachelor of Economics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, a Master of Finance degree from MIT, and an MBA degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. During her time at Wharton, she interned at BlackRock Private Equity Partners and worked on a ~$7B take-private deal of a commercial data & analytics service provider. She also spent a few months at a consumer food start-up helping the founder across marketing, sales, finance and operations, where she experienced first-hand the joys and struggles of entrepreneurship.
Kerry was born in China, and split time between there and the UK during her childhood; she has also lived in Canada and Australia. She currently resides with her husband in San Francisco where she picks out cooking videos and he tries to replicate them with varying levels of success. She loves to travel and explore local restaurants wherever she goes.
