Vanessa Alvarez Castillo

Vanessa Alvarez Castillo has a diverse and successful career in the wire and cable industry. Vanessa started their career at Phelps Dodge Corporation, where they held various roles in sales, engineering, and marketing. In 2011, they joined General Cable, where they served as a Commercial Director and later as a General Manager and Chief Commercial Officer for Peru and Ecuador. During their time at General Cable, they also held roles in business development and supply chain management. In 2018, General Cable was acquired by Prysmian Group, and Vanessa transitioned into a leadership role within the company. Vanessa first served as the Director of the Latin America Industrial Division, where they implemented business strategies for major industrial business units across 15 countries. Vanessa then took on the role of Vice President of the Latin America Energy Division, where they were responsible for harmonizing the company's portfolio and optimizing growth opportunities. Currently, Vanessa is a Senior Vice President of the Global Industrial Specialty Business Unit at Prysmian Group, a position they have held since 2022.

Vanessa Alvarez Castillo has completed an Advanced Leadership Program at SDA Bocconi in Milan, Italy in 2021. Prior to that, they obtained an MBA from IESA in Caracas, Venezuela in 2014. Vanessa also completed a Supervision and Management Techniques Program at IESA in 2010. Vanessa's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Simón Bolívar University in Caracas, Venezuela, which they completed in 2004.
