Simon Goumaz

Co-founder, CTO at Pryv

Simon Goumaz has held various roles in the technology industry since 2002. In 2002, they were a web design teacher at ateliers nomades. In 2003, they were an intern at Microsoft Research Asia. From 2004 to 2008, they were a senior consultant at blue-infinity SA, where they implemented a modular platform for creating and managing SMS phone applications, a global tracking system for paper manufacturing consumables, and a global solution for goods valuation at customs and offices worldwide. From 2009 to 2011, they were a senior consultant at ELCA Informatique SA, where they implemented a system for managing the configuration of real-time control units of ALPIQ's electrical power network. From 2009 to 2010, they were a sheltered workshop assistance and accompaniment of marginalised people for Swiss civil service. In 2012, they were reconnecting and in transition at attentif*, and they provided limited-profit IT services as an independent software developer and designer. Also in 2012, they co-founded Pryv, where they were CTO and head of collaboration. Simon built an end-user service and platform for storing, visualising and sharing personal data, and in 2014 Pryv pivoted to a B2B model to serve other companies, particularly in the medical sector. In 2018, they became head of software at Urban Spring Co. Ltd, where they provided technical leadership and collaboration and coordinated the development (software side) of a network of 'smart' water dispensers.

Simon Goumaz attended Collège Claparède from 1994 to 1998. Simon then attended EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) from 1998 to 2003, where they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science.
