Sophie Beard

Sophie Beard is a Software Engineer at PSI Metals since June 2023, enhancing software solutions for the steel and aluminum manufacturing sectors by debugging and optimizing applications. Previously, Sophie participated in the Out in Tech U Mentee Program from October 2022 to June 2023, where a fullstack application was developed to improve Instagram's accessibility for users with disabilities, culminating in a presentation to the Out In Tech community. Earlier experience includes a role as an Estimator and Sales Assistant at IQ Glass UK from September 2017 to August 2022, where Sophie provided quotations and technical advice for architectural glazing projects. A brief work experience at Sanditon Asset Management involved researching Brexit's impact and preparing an educational presentation. Sophie holds an MChem degree in Chemistry from the University of Bath and has studied at Universidad de Zaragoza, along with academic qualifications from Berkhamsted School.
