Idoia Mendia Cueva

Idoia Mendia Cueva is currently serving as Eurodiputada at the European Parliament since June 2024 and has held several significant positions within the PSOE since July 2014, including Secretaria de Estudios y Programas CEF and Secretaria General PSE-EE (PSOE). Prior to this, Idoia Mendia Cueva was Vicelehendakari y Consejera de Trabajo y Empleo in the Basque Government from September 2020 to May 2024, and a member of Eusko Legebiltzarra - Parlamento Vasco from November 2012 to September 2020, where responsibilities included oversight of various governmental functions. Earlier experience includes serving as Consejera de Justicia y Administración Pública in the Basque Government and as Concejala in the Ayuntamiento Barrika. Idoia Mendia Cueva holds a degree in Law from the University of Deusto, a postgraduate degree in International and European Relations from the Amsterdam School of International Relations, and a diploma in legal practice from the Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacia de Bizkaia.
