Chris Zimmer

Chris Zimmer has over two decades of experience in the mining industry, currently serving as Executive Vice President of Technical Services at Freeport Indonesia since December 2009, where previous roles included Senior Vice President of the Underground Division and Vice President of Expansion Mines. Prior to Freeport Indonesia, Chris held various positions at companies such as Sanford Underground Laboratory at Homestake as Director of Engineering, RockWell Petroleum as Manager of Mining, and Barrick Gold Corporation as Underground Chief Mining Engineer. Earlier career experiences include roles at Stillwater Mining Corporation, Graymont Lime, and Homestake Mining Company. Chris Zimmer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mineral Engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, earned between 1992 and 1995.
