Novi Kurnia has over 17 years of experience in the field of maintenance planning and engineering, currently serving as Superintendent Maintenance Planning and Planning Engineer at PT Kaltim Nitrate Indonesia since June 2011. Responsibilities include managing equipment asset registers in SAP systems and conducting site verification and assessments of critical equipment. Prior to this role, Novi Kurnia held various positions at Evonik Indonesia, Ltd, such as Reliability/Maintenance Planner Scheduler and Instrument & Electrical Planner, where responsibilities included planning management for instrumentation, electrical systems, and DCS. Earlier experience includes serving as a Junior Instrument & Electric Engineer at Evonik Degussa Peroxide Indonesia, Ltd, working on the production of Hydrogen Peroxide. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Electro and Communication Engineering and a Diploma in Electronic and Instrumentation Engineering from UNIVERSITAS JENDRAL ACHMAD YANI, as well as vocational training in industrial instrumentation at SMKN 1 Cimahi.

PT Kaltim Nitrate Indonesia (KNI) is Indonesia’s largest Porous Prill Ammonium Nitrate (AN) manufacturer with an annual capacity of 300,000 tonnes. It is a joint venture between Orica Investments (Indonesia) Pty Ltd and local partners - PT Armindo Mitra Prakarsa, a member of the Armindo Group, being the largest shareholder. The state-of-the art AN plant is strategically located in Bontang, East Kalimantan, PT KNI is run by top young Indonesians recruited from all across Indonesia as well as those who have experience working for foreign petrochemical manufacturers. The plant construction commenced in August 2009 to specifically cater to the growing mining industry. In the past, local mining companies have been dependent on imported AN. PT KNI seeks to bring increased security of supply by being a local and reliable supplier of world class AN. The plant started production in April 2012, starting a new phase in the mining industry in Indonesia.
