Erik Watkins PT, DPT has a diverse work experience in the field of physical therapy. Erik started their career as an intern at Cressey Performance, where they observed and instructed athletes in strength and conditioning exercises. Erik also provided hands-on assistance and offered tips and cues during workouts. Later, they worked as an intern at Saratoga Physical Therapy Associates, where they gained practical experience in the field.
Erik then joined Skidmore College as an Assistant to the Athletic Trainer's Office, where they assisted in the management of athletic injuries. Erik then pursued additional internships at PT Solutions Physical Therapy and Wayne Orthopedic Physical Therapy, where they gained experience in outpatient settings, specializing in orthopedic cases.
After completing their education, Erik worked at VNA Health Care as a Physical Therapy Student, focusing on home care physical therapy and managing complex medical cases. Erik then joined PT Solutions Physical Therapy as a Staff Physical Therapist, Clinic Director, Senior Clinic Director, and finally as the Director of District Operations.
Throughout their career, Erik has developed skills in manual techniques such as joint mobilization and manipulation and has managed caseloads ranging from 6 to 20 patients per day.
Erik Watkins PT, DPT obtained their Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Skidmore College in 2014. Erik completed their high school education at Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School, earning their high school diploma in 2010. Additionally, they hold a certification in CPR/AED obtained from the American Red Cross in August 2013.
