Mushtaque Ishaque

Mushtaque Ishaque has a diverse work experience in the medical field. In 2013, they started working as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon & Medical Director at The Back Doc Co. Mushtaque also served as a Senior Clinical Examiner and Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham from 2008 to 2015. Mushtaque Ishaque held the position of Hunterian Professor at The Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2007. Mushtaque has been recognized by the British Orthopaedic Association as a Robert Jones Gold Medallist and Fellow. Additionally, they worked as a Specialist Lecturer at Birmingham City University from 2009 to 2020. In 2016, Mushtaque Ishaque became the Chief Medical Officer at PT Wired, Inc. and later took on the role of Chief Medical Officer and Director at PT Wired Europe, The Musher, and Atlas SportsTech in 2020. Mushtaque is currently a Professor of Orthopaedics and Spinal Surgery at PGMI / AMC / LGH.

Mushtaque Ishaque completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Pharmacology at the University of London from 1986 to 1989. Mushtaque then pursued their Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree at the University of Cambridge from 1989 to 1992. Mushtaque Ishaque also obtained a higher doctorate in Medicine, specifically in Molecular Biology and Genetics of Degenerative Disc Disease, from the University of Nottingham between 1998 and 2000.

In terms of their surgical education, Mushtaque Ishaque received various fellowships and certifications. Mushtaque completed a Combined Neurosurgical and Orthopaedic Spine Fellowship at Vancouver General Hospital, part of The University of British Columbia, from 2006 to 2008, specializing in Adult Reconstructive Spinal Surgery. Additionally, they earned the following fellowships from The Royal College of Surgeons: FRCS(Orth) in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2005, FRCS(Eng) in General Surgery in 1999, and FRCS(Ed) in General Surgery in 1998.
