Shawlon Hsieh has a diverse and impressive work experience that spans several industries. Starting in 1988, Hsieh served as a Sublieutenant Logistics Officer in the Taiwan Air Force until 1990. Afterward, they worked as an Associate Editor for Newton Magazine, a popular science magazine based in Japan, from 1990 to 1992. Hsieh then joined Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates LLC, where they worked as a Designer from 1997 to 2005. During this time, Hsieh was involved in projects such as building the Roman Gallery for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and designing workplaces for Fortune 500 companies.

In 2005, Hsieh moved to Santiago Calatrava LLC, where they served as a Project Architect until 2012. Notable projects during this time include the World Trade Center Transportation Hub at Ground Zero and designing a performing arts campus in Taiwan.

From 2012 to 2017, Hsieh worked at CCDI GROUP as an Associate Design Principal, responsible for planning business strategy in China's construction industry and managing overseas acquisitions. Additionally, Hsieh served as the Facade Practice Leader, leading a team for project delivery and designing the Jinan Yunding Tower, which received recognition from the CTBUH.

In 2017, Hsieh joined PTW Architects as Deputy General Manager, contributing to the development of design services for Australia, SE Asia, and China. In 2020, they assumed the role of Managing Director Strategy, and as of April 2022, they are currently serving as the Managing Director of PTW.

In 2022, Hsieh briefly worked at Archilier Architecture as a Manager from July to December. Shawlon then moved to Studio Link-Arc, LLC in 2023, where they currently hold the position of Senior Consultant, contributing to shaping the best workplace environment and leveraging their expertise in designing the China Pavilion for the 2015 World Expo in Milan.

Shawlon Hsieh has a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from National Taiwan University, which they obtained from 1982 to 1988. Shawlon then pursued a Master of Architecture degree in Architecture from New Jersey Institute of Technology from 1993 to 1997. Additionally, they completed a Master program in Neuroscience at National Yang Ming University from 1990 to 1992. Shawlon Hsieh also holds a certification as a Registered Architect from the New York State Education Department, which they obtained in December 2004.
