Public Counsel
Steven Godoy has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Steven is currently serving as the Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer at Public Counsel since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Grobstein Teeple LLP, where they held positions such as Manager, Senior Consultant, and Consultant, gaining expertise in public accounting and consulting services. Before that, they worked at Veterans Medical Research Foundation as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, Accountant II, and Accounting Assistant. Steven also worked as a Small Business Consultant at SDSU Aztec Business Alliance and an Accounting Assistant at Coronado Yacht Club. Additionally, they served as a Summer Resident Tutor Advisor at CO-OP Upward Bound.
Steven Godoy has a strong educational background in the field of accounting. Steven completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Psychology from San Diego State University from 2005 to 2010. Steven went on to pursue further education and obtained a Master of Science degree in Accountancy with a focus on AIS (Accounting Information Systems) from San Diego State University from 2010 to 2012. Steven also had the opportunity to participate in international exchange programs, studying at the International University in Germany for a semester in 2009 and at Yonsei University for a semester in 2008.
