Julie Vachon is an experienced epidemiologist currently serving as the Manager of the Domestic and International Zoonoses Program at the Public Health Agency of Canada since February 2017. Vachon leads a team focused on zoonotic diseases, preparedness, and response efforts. Previous roles include Acting Manager in Horizontal Surveillance Operations, where Vachon developed a national strategic plan for surveillance workforce capacity, and Senior Epidemiologist positions overseeing COVID-19 and communicable diseases, including tuberculosis and sexually transmitted infections. Vachon has a strong background in data management, analysis, and stakeholder engagement, holding a Master of Science in Epidemiology and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Microbiology from Université Laval.
