Diane Schmidt

Diane Schmidt is a seasoned communications and development specialist with extensive experience in public health and healthcare management. Currently serving as a Senior Communications & Development Specialist at the Public Health Institute since July 2014, Diane focuses on dissemination and implementation research related to alcohol consumption and its associated issues. Additionally, Diane is the COO of Prioritize Consulting and has been providing expertise in priority setting within healthcare since September 2012. A prolific freelance writer and editor with over 800 articles and 1200 blogs authored, Diane has also worked as a contractor and consultant since 2000 for various organizations, contributing to projects in fundraising, grant development, and health care research. Diane's earlier roles include Communications Specialist at Alberta Aids to Daily Living and Communications Officer at Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues. Diane holds a Master of Science in Health Care and Epidemiology from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts in Health Sciences from Simon Fraser University, supplemented by education at the University of California, Berkeley.
