Julia Caplan

Julia Caplan is the Executive Director of State of Equity, a program of the Public Health Institute, since August 2010, focusing on advancing racial equity and health through capacity building and community partnerships. Prior to this role, Julia served as the Project Director for the California Senior Leaders Alliance, managing a significant grant and overseeing initiatives related to elder advocacy and economic security. Julia's experience also includes program development and community engagement roles at various organizations, including Medical Students for Choice, where over $3 million was raised to support reproductive health advocacy. Julia holds two Master's degrees from the University of California, Berkeley in Public Health and Public Policy, along with a Bachelor's degree in Middle Eastern Studies from the same institution.
