Senior Advisor, Director Prevention Policy Group & Getting It Right From The Start at Public Health Institute

Lynn Silver is a highly experienced public health professional currently serving as a Senior Advisor and Director of the Prevention Policy Group and the "Getting it Right from the Start" initiative at the Public Health Institute since January 2014. Lynn's leadership focuses on noncommunicable disease prevention and global health advocacy, including the establishment of the California Alliance for Prevention Funding and the development of model policies for public health protections related to cannabis legalization. In addition to a role as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of California, San Francisco, Lynn has held positions including Health Officer for the County of Sonoma, Assistant Commissioner for Chronic Disease at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and Interim Dean at the Universidade de Brasília. Lynn's educational background includes an MD from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, complemented by board certification in pediatrics.
