Tess Thorman

Tess Thorman is an experienced research associate at the Public Policy Institute of California, focusing on poverty, inequality, and social safety net programs in California since April 2017. Prior to this role, Tess contributed as a consultant at the Center for Migration Studies of New York, co-authoring significant research on DACA. Additional experience includes positions as a research assistant at both the Spatial Analysis Lab at USC and the Stanford University School of Medicine, as well as a teaching assistant and various internships in food systems, communications, and health education. Tess holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Musical Studies from Oberlin College.
