Ma. Cynthia Hernandez has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Currently, they hold the position of Executive Director at the Public-Private Partnership Center of the Philippines. Prior to this, they served as a Deal Advisory Principal and the Sector Head for Infrastructure, Energy & Natural Resources at KPMG Philippines from October 2016 to September 2022. Ma. Cynthia also held the role of Director, Advisory Services at KPMG Philippines from February 2014 to September 2016.
Before their time at KPMG Philippines, Hernandez was the AVP for Finance in the Power Generation Group at Aboitiz Power Corporation from October 2011 to September 2013. Ma. Cynthia also worked as a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager at AES Philippines from February 2011 to October 2011.
Earlier in their career, Hernandez held various positions at Ernst & Young Transaction Advisory Services Inc., PSALM (Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp), PricewaterhouseCoopers, PNOC - Petrochemical Development Corporation, and Meralco (Manila Electric Co).
Overall, they bring a wealth of experience in finance, power generation, infrastructure, and advisory services to their current role as the Executive Director.
Ma. Cynthia Hernandez completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of the Philippines in 1991-1996. Ma. Cynthia later pursued a Master of Development Economics degree from the same university in 1997-1999. In 2018, they acquired a Green Finance Specialist certification from The Renewables Academy AC, specializing in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Science in Business Management degree with a focus on Green Energy and Climate Finance from the Berlin School of Economics and Law, Berlin Professional School, expected to be completed in 2020-2022.
