Wayne Capps

STEM Coordinator, NC Center for Afterschool Programs at Public School Forum of North Carolina

Wayne Capps is the STEM Coordinator at the NC Center for Afterschool Programs at Public School Forum of North Carolina. Wayne has also worked as a Science Specialist, Student Teacher, and Programs Manager. Wayne has a passion for science and providing students with meaningful learning opportunities. Wayne has developed a curriculum with a student-driven approach to science learning and has taught both virtually and in-person. Wayne is dedicated to helping students prepare for high school science courses and make the transition to high school successfully.

Wayne Capps holds a Master of Education from Elizabeth City State University in Elementary Education and Teacher Leadership, a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Environmental Studies, and a High School Diploma from Northside High School. Wayne is certified by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in Teaching License-Standard, by Darkness to Light in Certified Interpretive Guide and Darkness to Light - Put an End to Child Abuse, by Pacific Science Center in Portal to the Public, and by UNC Chapel Hill in SAFE Haven.
