Jonathan Balas

Jonathan Balas, AIA, LEED-AP, is the Global Sustainability Director at Public Storage, where they lead sustainability initiatives across a portfolio of over 3,000 properties. With a strong belief in sustainable growth, Jonathan previously served as Senior Manager and later Director of Global Sustainability at Yum! Brands, overseeing the design and construction of numerous LEED-certified buildings and significantly improving the company’s sustainability reporting. Jonathan also held positions at MTFA Architecture and EYP Inc., focusing on historic preservation and green building practices. They hold a Master's Degree in Architecture from the University of Virginia and are pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in History and Anthropology at the University of Vermont.
