Advisor, Leadership Giving at The Public Theater

Jan Gura is the Advisor for Leadership Giving at The Public Theater. Jan has over 20 years of experience in arts administration and a proven track record in fundraising and development. Prior to their current position, Jan was the Director of Major Gifts, Culture & Arts Programming/Great Performances at Thirteen/WNET. In this role, they managed a portfolio of donors and prospects, cultivated and solicited gifts, and oversaw fundraising activities for the arts programming on PBS.

Before joining Thirteen/WNET, Jan was with Gura Associates, a fundraising consulting firm that works with arts and cultural organizations. Jan also spent two years as the Senior VP of Development and Strategic Partnerships at Boyett Ostar Productions, where they collaborated with TONY Award-winning producers Bob Boyett and Bill Haber on Broadway productions including Monty Python’s Spamalot, The Jan'story Boys, The Drowsy Chaperone, and The Woman in White.

Jan is a seasoned fundraiser with a passion for the arts. Jan has a successful track record of soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Jan is skilled in developing partnerships and has a deep understanding of the inner workings of the theater industry. Jan is a dedicated philanthropist who believes in the power of the arts to transform lives.

Jan Gura has a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Art Jan'story from Rutgers University.
