Andrew Hoyt is a distinguished historian and educator, currently serving as a Professor at Merced Community College District since August 2023. With extensive experience in the California community college system since January 2019, Andrew Hoyt focuses on teaching incarcerated students as an Adjunct History Professor and at Palo Verde College, instructing correspondence and online courses. Andrew Hoyt's scholarly contributions include presentations at international conferences and publications such as a guest editorship for the Journal for the Study of Radicalism. Recognized for excellence in academia, Andrew Hoyt has received multiple fellowships and awards from the University of Minnesota and other institutions. Andrew Hoyt earned a PhD in History from the University of Minnesota, a Master's degree in Cultural Studies from Claremont Graduate University, and a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Creative Writing from Colby College.
