Andrew Thomas

Andrew Thomas has a strong background in information security and cyber security. Andrew started their career in 2006 as an Information Security Engineer in the Indiana National Guard. During their time there, they held various roles including Cyber Security Manager, Cyber Security Analyst, and Network Security Team Lead. In 2016, they joined the Indiana State Department of Health as an Information Security Officer and HIPAA Security Officer. And in 2018, they joined Publix Super Markets as a Senior Information Security Engineer and later became the Principal Security Engineer.

Andrew Thomas obtained a Master's degree in Health Informatics/Human Computer Interaction from Indiana University Indianapolis in 2019. Andrew also holds a Bachelor's degree from the same university, majoring in Information Security and Networking with a minor in Psychology, which they completed in 2015. In addition to their formal education, Andrew has obtained several certifications in various fields, including the GIAC Defending Advanced Threats (GDAT) certification from the SANS Institute in 2022, and the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certifications in 2008. Andrew is also a certified Private Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration, with certifications in Network+, Security+, and Systems Security Certified Practitioner dating back to 2007 and 2004.
