Aaron Grimmer lives in Portland with his wife and their two children. Aaron has lived in Portland for over 12 years and is a serial entrepreneur having developed a variety of small businesses. Currently he is the proprietor of the restaurants The Picnic House and Barlow Artisanal Bar in downtown Portland and Picnic PDX on NW 23rd Ave.
Along with running his businesses, Aaron has been involved with community and business organizations like the Oregon Restaurant and Lodging Association, Travel Portland, The Downtown Portland Business Alliance, and the Oregon Forum. He and his wife have also been passionate supporters of LGBTQ organizations like Young Audiences, Basic Rights Oregon, Period.Org, and the Portland Q Center.
Aaron and Jessica employ about 50 part-time and full-time workers at their restaurants. Nearly all them have to battle a lengthy, stressful and sometimes expensive commute just to get to and from work every day. He’s thrilled to be part of this task force to be both a representative for downtown businesses and an advocate for his employees and the thousands of people just like them.
