Maria Vega-Rodriguez

Maria Vega-Rodriguez, PhD is currently serving as Special Assistant to the Secretary at the Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources, where Maria is the US Coral Reef Task Force Point of Contact for the Coral Reef Conservation and Management Program. With a strong background in marine sciences, Maria previously worked as a Technical Project Coordinator at Pinellas County Government and held various roles at University of South Florida and Duke University. Maria's expertise lies in developing conservation efforts for marine ecosystems and analyzing oceanographic data to support environmental decision-making.
