John Dawson is an experienced professional in environmental management and engineering, currently serving as the Engineering Manager at Puget Sound Clean Air Agency since June 2020. Prior to this role, John held the position of Deputy Director for the Division of Air Resource Management at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection from July 2014 to June 2020 and also worked as an Environmental Consultant. John's career began at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where John served as a Physical Scientist and participated as an AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow from September 2008 to July 2014. John earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University and holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Villanova University.

The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency is a regional government agency created in 1967. Our jurisdiction covers King, Kitsap, Pierce, and Snohomish counties. We achieve our mission by monitoring air quality, sponsoring voluntary initiatives, educating people and businesses about air quality issues, and enforcing state and federal air quality laws.
