Joseph Kerr is a Mechanical Design Lead at PulseMedica, responsible for the design and manufacture of mechanical and optomechanical systems since March 2023. Previously, Joseph served as a Research Engineer II at the UMaine Advanced Structures and Composites Center, focusing on finite element models and parts designed for a large 3D printer. As an Industrial Design Consultant at Milo Sensors, Joseph developed cartridge concepts, and as a Contract Mechanical Engineer for Modus QA and PKA SoftTouch Corp., Joseph was involved in patent drawings and the development of an intradermal insulin injector device. Joseph co-founded Fernando Kerr Design, where achievements included creating a safety needle tip and securing funding through grants and investor pitches. Additional experience includes roles in Ceresensa where ISO certification was achieved, and earlier positions as a Mechanical Engineer at Robarts Research Institute and a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Calgary. Education includes a Master’s in Industrial Design from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto.
