Sourav Sarkar

Sourav Sarkar, Ph.D., is a Software Algorithms Developer at PulseMedica since July 2025, having previously held multiple positions at the University of Alberta from September 2016 to July 2025, including Astronomical Software Developer, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, and Doctoral Researcher. During this time, Sourav developed a full chain particle physics research project focusing on the analysis of rare physics signatures in IceCube data. Additional experience includes a role as a Data Scientist at Industry Sandbox & AI Computing, where Sourav supported small and medium enterprises in adopting machine learning tools. Earlier research activities comprised an MITACS Globalink Research Internship at The University of British Columbia and various fellowships at prominent organizations in India, including Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Sourav holds a PhD in Elementary Particle Physics from the University of Alberta and an Integrated BS-MS in Physics from the Indian Institute of Science Education & Research, Kolkata.
