In 2010, they worked as a Senior Social Media Manager for Stonyfield Farm, where they played a critical role in building the company's social media presence and increasing engagement with fans. Amy then moved on to work as an Employment Brand Specialist at Cimpress, where they focused on elevating the company's employer brand impact through social media.
In 2013, Amy founded their own company called VanHaren Creative, where they helped businesses harness the creative power of social media to engage, grow, and connect with their audiences. Amy worked with clients such as Pukka Herbs, Amy's Kitchen, Orgain, and Grandy Oats.
Amy also worked at Patagonia as a Social Media Consultant for Patagonia Provisions and Patagonia Books, leading digital and social strategies for the brand. Amy later joined Amy's Kitchen as the Senior Manager of Digital and Social Media Marketing Strategy, where they developed and implemented digital marketing plans.
In 2016, Amy founded pumpspotting, a company focused on creating a more inclusive world for families by building baby-feeding-friendly cultures for businesses. Amy served as the CEO and Founder, leading the development of baby-feeding software and services to help businesses create breastfeeding-compliant environments.

Amy VanHaren received their BA in English Composition from DePauw University between 1995 and 1999. Amy furthered their education by obtaining an MFA in Writing from the University of New Hampshire from 2005 to 2008.
