Andreas Johannesson completed their Senior Secondary School education at Borgarskolan i Malmö from 1978 to 1981. Andreas then joined the Swedish Naval Academy/Sjökrigsskolan, where they pursued a degree in Military Service and became an Officer in the Coastal Artillery from 1981 to 1984. Following this, Andreas enrolled at Stockholm School of Economics from 1984 to 1988 and obtained a Master of Science and Economics degree with a specialization in Finance and International Business. In 1986, they also had the opportunity to study as an exchange student at McGill University, where they pursued an MBA.
