Michael Kroese

Director, External Supply Chain & Alliance Management at Purdue Pharma

Michael Kroese has a diverse range of work experience in supply chain management. Michael worked at Purdue Pharma L.P. as the Director of External Supply Chain and Alliance Management, where they were responsible for ensuring the supply of pharmaceutical and consumer health products. Michael also led the Internal Supply Chain group for a period of 15 months, managing the end to end supply chain for Purdue's US sites.

Prior to that, they worked at Merck as the Director of Global Supply Chain Management, leading a team of Global Supply Chain Managers. Michael was accountable for managing the supply chains for Merck's top 30 products, focusing on working capital efficiency and customer service.

Michael also served as the Global Product Leader at Merck, where they engaged with Sales & Marketing partners to drive brand strategy. Michael led cross-functional teams to optimize the supply chain and manage product life cycles for various Primary Care and Hospital/Specialty products.

Earlier in their career, Michael held roles as a Sourcing Manager, Regional Planning Manager, Senior Supply Chain Planner, and Operations Manager at Merck. In these positions, they were responsible for tasks such as sourcing contract manufacturing and packaging requirements, resolving supply and demand imbalances, planning product transfers, and managing shop floor operations.

Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a focus on optimizing supply chain processes to reduce lead time, inventory, and cost.

Michael Kroese attended the Yale School of Management from 2017 to 2018, where they completed the Executive Leadership Program. Prior to this, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry and Management Science from Imperial College London, graduating in 1992. Additionally, Michael holds certifications as a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) and Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) from APICS.
