Sheikha Shamma Bint Sultan bin Khalifa al Nahyan

Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan serves as the President and CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators since August 2022, focusing on uniting stakeholders to achieve the UAE's net zero goal by 2050. Additionally, Sheikha Shamma holds multiple roles, including Women Leaders in Energy and Climate Change Fellow at the Atlantic Council and Honorary President of the Emirates Green Building Council, where advisory support promotes sustainable development. As Co-Founder of Aurora50, initiatives aimed at enhancing women's professional pathways in the UAE have been launched. Previously, Sheikha Shamma founded and led Alliances for Global Sustainability, offering consulting services for businesses to achieve sustainability and align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Educational qualifications include a Master of Philosophy in Modern Middle Eastern Studies and a Master’s degree in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge, along with a Bachelor of Science in Business Sciences from Zayed University.
