David Walker

David Walker, P.E. serves as the VP of Sourcing and Manufacturing Strategy at Purple since July 2020, following a progressive career in engineering and supply chain management at Universal Trailer Corporation, where roles included Vice President of Engineering & Supply Chain and Supply Chain Director. David has demonstrated expertise in product development, lifecycle management, and strategic sourcing, with accomplishments such as leading supplier rationalization projects and improving inventory management. Prior experience includes materials management at Helmerich & Payne, as well as engineering and manufacturing roles at Universal Trailer Corporation and other firms, focusing on lean methodologies, design optimization, and cost reduction initiatives. David holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State University, earned between 1999 and 2004.
