Kirk Smith

Kirk Smith is an experienced engineering leader currently serving as the Director of Engineering for Platform at Purpose Unlimited since January 2023. Previously, Kirk held the position of Head of Engineering at Driven from January 2020 onward and at Ario from September 2017 to October 2020, where responsibilities included leading platform development and working as a Full Stack Developer on FinTech software solutions. Prior experience includes a tenure at BlackBerry from April 2010 to September 2017 as a Software Development Manager and Team Lead, focusing on the Enterprise Identity Platform and BBID Platform development infrastructure for various mobile operating systems. Kirk's career began at Nortel, where roles included Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead from 1995 until August 2009. Kirk earned a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Carleton University between 1990 and 1995.
