Derek Smith

Derek Smith is a seasoned sales professional currently serving as the Sr. Sales Manager for Pylontech since September 2023. With a robust background in sales management, Derek previously held the position of Regional Sales Manager at SPAN, where responsibilities included pioneering sales in the South Central region for a cleantech startup. Derek also managed sales and profitability across an eight-state territory at Universal Lighting Technologies, Inc. and co-founded HEADSPIN Outdoors, contributing to the design and launch of innovative consumer electronics. Additional experience includes leading sales efforts at GREEN CREATIVE, as well as various roles at Orion Energy Systems, Inc. and Unity Microelectronics, Inc. Derek holds a Bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University and has further education in Mandarin Chinese from Beijing Language and Culture University.
