Jannis Leidel is a highly experienced software engineer and director with a robust background in the Python programming community and web development. Currently serving as Principal Software Engineer at Anaconda, Inc. since May 2021, previous positions include Staff Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer. Jannis contributes to the Python Software Foundation as a Director and Fellow, recognized for work on Python packaging tools such as pip and virtualenv. Prior experience includes roles at Mozilla Corporation as a Staff Software Engineer, founding enn.io UG, and contributions as a Core Developer for the Django Software Foundation. Jannis has also been involved in mentoring at Google and served in various engineering roles throughout a diverse career that began with a BFA in Media Design from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
