Rashid Salum

Rashid Salum is a seasoned professional in forest management and sustainability with extensive experience in the industry. Currently serving as Forest Controller at Pyxus International, Inc. since May 2019, Rashid oversees forest and sustainability development. As Country Forester for Alliance One International since May 2014, responsibilities include managing forest projects in Tanzania. Previous roles include Rehabilitation Officer at Mantra Tanzania Ltd., where focus was on managing natural forests, community training in forest conservation, and advising on biodiversity conservation. Rashid began the career as Assistant Forest Plantation Manager at Mufindi Paper Mills. Rashid holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry with a concentration in forest ecology from Sokoine University of Agriculture, graduated in 2011. Early education includes attendance at Uhuru Primary School, Mringa Sec School, and Arusha Meru High School from 1998 to 2006.
