Joe Yurso began their work experience as a Naval Officer in the USN in 1955 and served until 1984. Following that, they worked as a Special advisor to the President at MRS Rosenblatt & Sons from 1984 to 1986. Later, they joined QED Systems, Inc. as the Director of Technical Development in 1986.

Joe Yurso has a comprehensive education history. In 1948, they started their educational journey by enrolling at Penn State University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. This program lasted for four years, ending in 1952. After completing their undergraduate degree, Joe Yurso went on to attend the US Naval Postgraduate School from 1957 to 1960. During their time there, they obtained a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Thermoelectric systems and Mechanical Engineering in general.

Later on, in 1973, Joe Yurso had the opportunity to further their education by attending Carnegie Mellon University. Although the duration of their program is unclear, they studied Business Administration and Management, exploring the field in a more comprehensive manner.
