Karl Sköld

Director Contract Development at Q-linea

Karl Sköld has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Karl began their career as a Research engineer at the National Veterinary Institute, with a focus on mass spectroscopy. Karl then pursued a Ph.D. at Uppsala University, specializing in Medical and Biological mass spectrometry. During their Ph.D., they also worked at GE Healthcare. After completing their Ph.D., Karl joined Denator as the Head of Discovery and a board member. Denator is a company focused on developing tools to stabilize biological samples for higher quality analytical results.

Karl later worked as a Project Manager at Uppsala BIO, a company specializing in life science innovations. Karl then became the CEO of Umbrella Science, a role they held until 2018. In 2014, Karl became an Affiliated Researcher at Caramba, a department of Medical Sciences focusing on cancer pharmacology and computational medicine.

Most recently, Karl held the position of Director Contract Development and Manager Consumable Development at Q-linea, a company specializing in diagnostics. Throughout their career, Karl has demonstrated expertise in research, project management, and leadership roles.

Karl Sköld pursued their educational journey at Uppsala University. From 1994 to 1996, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Biotechnology engineering. Following this, they furthered their education, specializing in Molecular biology, and graduated with a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in 2000.
